For Windows + eGPU I've resized the Windows icon that comes with the rEFInd-minimal theme, and added one of the other icons (with some colour editing) to the Windows logo for the eGPU one. In case you are trying to reproduce the look of my boot loader, I've installed the rEFInd-minimal theme, and I've used a simple image editing program to essentially invert the colours in the background and the icons to make everything white on black. That's it! Some final notes/things to be aware of: If you're not using a rEFInd theme then you can omit the icon line. If like me you are using a simple MacOS Sierra install with a single Windows 10 in Bootcamp, then adding the following lines to your nf will give you the boot option that will launch your script via the EFI shell.Note that I am using a late 2016 13" MBP with Touchbar hence the uncommented line. Create a script in the EFI/tools directory, which I've named win_plus_gpu.nsh (the name doesn't matter but you need to refer to it later).Top tip: the -b option shows output page by page, so try help -b and your troubles will diminish. However this document gave me vital clues as to how to do anything with the shell. The commands look the same but some of the syntax is different (and crucially the mm command is different). * = The documentation link doesn't match the suggested download shell if you want to use the matching shell then here is the download. You have to enable the EFI shell in your nf by ensuring that you have showtools shell in there somewhere. If you use the suggested rEFInd download then there's a handy script in the zip which you can execute with sudo /mountesp to mount to the EFI area so that you can copy the shell binary and create/edit the script that is coming up later on. I believe that rEFInd expects the exact filename shell.efi no matter which shell you use. Note that to install this, you have to copy the Shell_Full.efi file in the download page to your EFI/tools directory, however you must rename it to shell.efi (lowercase).Bottom row: MacOS recovery mode, EFI Shell, power off, restart, exit rEFInd. From left to right, top row: Win 10, Win 10 + eGPU (using variant of nando4's solution), MacOS Sierra 10.12.3. Attached is a screen of my boot loader screen. In any case the rEFInd setup may well be of use to some people in a similar boat to me. Caveat: I am on the road right now and don't have my eGPU with me, so I can't tell if the solution actually works. Hey, it’s a start. After a few days of intensive research, trial and error, I've managed to get rEFInd working with with a variation of the script posted by nando4. I have mainly used this on my cheeks and undereye area, and you can be more liberal with it than you would be with a powder highlighter for example because as I mentioned the highlighting effect is quite subtle. I impulse bought it, £11, whilst trying to make the most of a 3 for 2 offer on Soap & Glory cosmetics in Boots (I’m a terrible sucker for their offers), and so far I’m loving it! Hocus Focus is an illuminator, not a product I’ve ever considered to be an essential in my make-up routine before, however experimenting with it so far I have found that it gives a great dewy effect and highlights very subtly and I think it could serve as a 2-in-1 primer/highlighter if I found myself without a primer or powder highlighter. The reason I prefer Double Wear, and if I had to choose just one I would choose Double Wear, is that when worn all over Shade 2 of Skin Base can look a little ghostly, it takes much more buffing to achieve a flawless finish, and isn’t great if you have dry patches.įinally, I have also included Soap & Glory Hocus Focus in the photo (swatch number 2), despite only having purchased it a few days ago. Skin Base is now quite pricey at £32 (although last time I purchased it it was still £27!), but is currently still available on ASOS in selected shades (including shade 2) for £27 here. Shade 2 is very, very light but also quite neutral in tone, which I prefer to the very pink or very yellow undertones you tend to find in pale foundations. Illamasqua Skin Base is also a fantastic foundation in my opinion, and the range of pale colours is second to none (Skin Base is also available in a pure white, which you could mix with any foundation to lighten). I don’t always mix the two together before applying (partly due to laziness), but usually use Skin Base on areas of my face I want to highlight and around my jawline so that blending my Double Wear into my neck looks more natural. ![]() To combat the slight colour difference, I usually combine my Double Wear with Illamasqua Skin Base in Shade 2 (swatch number 3). As you can see from the swatch below (number 4), Shell is still slightly warmer than my skin, however the colour difference is only slight and I like that it gives me a little bit of colour. The shade I use is ‘Shell’, which as far as I’m aware is the palest they do. The only downside is the annoying glass bottle, which means that you’re often left with product towards the end of a bottle which is difficult to get out. It provides flawless full coverage, is very easy to apply, lasts all day without being cakey and is just generally fabulous. The seemingly endless search for the perfect product is made even more difficult when you have particularly pale skin! My favourite foundation at the moment is Estee Lauder Double Wear (£28.50). |
